About Maple Grove, MN
Home to 61,567 people and 13 named lakes, our city was founded by Louis Gervais in 1851. The first wood-frame house built in Maple Grove, the Pierre Bottineau House, has been moved from its original location to the Elm Creek Park Reserve.
In the 1850s, when the house was built, Maple Grove was known for its maple trees and, therefore, its maple syrup.
