The kitchen is the heart of the home and where most of the cooking goes on. Some foods that you cook, although delicious, can leave a lingering odor in your home. It can be difficult to get rid of cooking smells. Here are some simple tips to help you get rid of some of these undesirable odors.

Fresh air will make a world of difference. Ventilate your home by opening your windows. A nice breeze will take odors out of the air. Try opening windows in the front of your home and in the back so that there is a good flow.

Confine Area/Use Fan

Shut any doors that you can, especially if you have a door to your kitchen. Confine the area with the odor in it from the rest of your house. Turn on your stove fan if you have one until the odor is minimized.

Cook Certain Foods Outdoors

If the weather is nice, cook certain foods that you know will cause odor outside. You can use your grill or if a deep fryer if you are cooking fried food. Make sure to leave your fryer outdoors afterward though, until it is cooled off.

Use a Scent Warmer/Light Candle

Use a plugin warmer or light a candle to freshen your air and make it smell nice. There are really great scents that you can use that will make a huge difference. Leave them on for at least an hour or longer.
