With nearly 35 years of experience providing exceptional restoration and cleaning services to home and commercial property owners, ServiceMaster Recovery Services has developed a reputation with insurance professionals, business owners, property managers and contractors as a premier cleaning and restoration specialist.
ServiceMaster Recovery Services was founded in 1976 by Jim Cyganiak. Jim first ran the company out of his home with only the assistance of his wife, Bonnie, and three sons, Jim, Dave and Mark. It wasn’t until almost four years later in 1980 that Jim began to hire additional help. Throughout the 1980s, the franchise began to expand, and in 1984 Jim purchased additional territory in West Allis, Wauwatosa, and New Berlin in Milwaukee County. By this time, the company size had grown significantly and was now fully staffed with crew members, equipment and multiple vehicles. In 1986, they relocated to the Greendale Industrial Park.
Jim and Bonnie’s franchise also provided a rather exclusive service in the industry… cleaning aircraft interiors. After years of weekly cleaning for Miller Brewing Company, the aircraft cleaning services expanded rapidly. Jim has cleaned aircraft interiors for legendary musical groups like Boston, Chicago and Fleetwood Mac, as well as planes for Philip Morris, Briggs & Stratton and Congoleum. About this time, the franchise began to play a more active role in local disaster restoration.
In 1991, Jim’s youngest son, Mark, began assisting the franchise. Mark Cyganiak served as a crew member for almost four years before assuming management responsibilities. Under Mark’s second-generation guidance, ServiceMaster Recovery Services now operates 10 franchises. It is the largest ServiceMaster® franchise in Wisconsin and among the largest in the nation.
ServiceMaster Recovery Services is based in New Berlin, WI in Milwaukee County with 24,000 sq. feet of facilities and have a full-service office in Manitowoc, Marinette, and Marquette. We have a fleet of 20+ emergency response vehicles.
As a ServiceMaster Restore Quality Restoration Vendor (QRV), our services are delivered with state-of-the-art equipment, and a thoroughly trained, insured, bonded and licensed staff. We coordinate cleaning and restoration services all over Wisconsin. We continue to work with multiple ServiceMaster Restore locations as part of a Nationwide Catastrophic Response Team. Most recently, we have been involved in assisting hundreds of homeowners through disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and the wildfires in California. In addition, we helped thousands of Wisconsin homeowners and commercial businesses survive the unparalleled winter events of 2007-2008.
