ServiceMaster by Rice: Louisiana Flood 2016

Workers outside of residential homes.

The severe flooding in Louisiana last month has been described as one of the worst national disasters in the United States in recent years. More than 40 ServiceMaster Restore franchises, including 6 ServiceMaster Recovery Management (SRM) businesses are on the ground in Louisiana helping with the devastation.

We sent a project manager down on August 16, 2016, to help SRM at a Target and then the rest of the guys arrived on the 18th to begin work at an apartment complex in Baton Rouge. ServiceMaster by Rice currently has 1 project manager, 5 supervisors, 50-60 temp workers mitigating 64 units in that apartment complex. In addition, both the trailer-mounted desiccants are in the St. Gabriel area helping dry a large facility.

The crew said that the damage caused by the flooding in Baton Rouge is comparable, if not worse, than the damage they saw when they were in New Orleans cleaning up after Hurricane Katrina.
