Safe Firework Clean Up

Safe Firework Clean Up

Happy Birthday America! It’s time to celebrate Independence Day again.  For many people, this means fireworks.  Fireworks are a beautiful way to enjoy the Fourth of July and everyone enjoys a good sky show. Enjoy your fireworks this holiday but know to to safely clean up afterward  by following our safety tips below.

Firework Clean Up Tips

  1. Before starting your firework clean up, be sure to let them cool all the way.

  2. Sweep up all wrappers, packaging and garbage from your firework show.  Check your street or area and be sure you get all trash picked up.

  3. Pour a bucket of water or use your hose to saturate all used fireworks. This ensures that all fireworks are safely extinguished.  Let them sit for at least 15 minutes before disposal.

  4. Place your wet fireworks in the garbage can before heading in for the night.  Push your trash can away from your house.

  5. Do NOT put used fireworks in recycling bin.

  6. If you have any unused fireworks left over, do NOT put them in your garbage can or recycling bin.

Enjoy your time, but remember cleaning up is important for the safety of you, your children, pets and the environment. Keep in mind this summer that ServiceMaster Restoration is open 24/7 for all your disaster needs. We want to wish everyone a healthy, happy Fourth Of July weekend.
