Steps to Ensure the Best Result Each Time

Our strip and wax process follows a precise sequence developed over years of commercial floor care. Each phase builds on the previous one, ensuring your floors get completely clean before new protection is applied.

Phase 1: Deep Cleaning and Stripping

The first phase removes old wax, embedded dirt, and accumulated grime that regular mopping can't touch. This creates the clean foundation necessary for new finish to properly adhere.

  1. Apply the stripper - We use commercial-grade cleaner specifically formulated to break down old wax layers
  2. Let sit for 10 to 15 minutes - This dwell time allows the cleaner to penetrate and break down dirt, grease, and old finish
  3. Use Roto machine to scrub floors - Our professional rotary equipment provides consistent pressure and coverage impossible to achieve by hand
  4. Edging by hand - We manually clean corners and edges where machines can't reach, ensuring complete coverage

Phase 2: Neutralization and Preparation

After stripping, floors must be properly neutralized and prepared. Skipping this phase causes new finish to fail prematurely or appear cloudy.

  1. Wet vac all stripper - Industrial vacuums remove all cleaning solution and dissolved wax
  2. Neutralize the floor with citric acid base product - This crucial step balances the floor's pH, allowing new finish to bond properly
  3. Wet vac the neutralizer - Complete removal ensures no residue interferes with the new finish

Phase 3: Final Cleaning and Drying

Before applying new finish, floors need to be absolutely clean and completely dry. Any remaining moisture or debris will cause bubbles, cloudiness, or peeling in the new finish.

  1. Mop and wet vac again - This final cleaning removes any remaining traces of cleaning products
  2. Use air movers to dry floors completely - Our high-efficiency fans positioned low to the floor ensure thorough drying in minimal time
  3. Dry dust mop the floor - This final step removes any dust particles that settled during drying

Phase 4: Protective Finish Application

  1. Apply three layers of finish - Each coat provides additional protection and shine. We carefully time application between coats for optimal adhesion and appearance.

The do-it-yourself process is timely, complicated and tricky. If you do not have the proper cleaning mixture you could permanently damage your flooring. The professionals can also identify specific stains and use the best method to remove it. The right equipment can be difficult to handle, so let our team’s experience and skills help you out!
