At ServiceMaster of Salem, we believe preparation is key to protecting lives and property when emergencies happen. That’s why we’re excited to share an incredible opportunity from the City of Salem Fire Department - free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training for local residents and workers.
CERT, originally developed by FEMA, is designed to teach everyday people how to stay safe, help their families, and assist their neighbors during the first hours or days after a disaster, when professional responders may be stretched thin.
This fall’s CERT program runs Thursday evenings, 6–9 p.m., from October 9 through November 13, and wraps up with a hands-on disaster simulation on Saturday, November 13, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Participants will learn about disaster readiness, basic fire safety, light search and rescue, team coordination, and emergency medical response.
The best part? It’s completely free and open to anyone who lives or works in Salem.
