Where Has Your Bag Been?

Nelson Laboratories recently conducted tests on women’s handbags. Almost all handbags examined contained high amounts of dangerous bacteria including salmonella, E. coli.  Keep these 5 things in mind to minimize exposure*:

  • Use hooks to hang your purse in a restroom.
  • Place your purse on the back of your chair in a restaurant or use a purse table hanger.
  • Place a plastic vegetable bag from the produce department under your bag in the shopping cart.
  • To sanitize your bags, periodically wipe down or wash the interior, exterior, and straps or handles.
